The Western Area Rural District Council has on Saturday 14th December, 2019 launched and hosted it Maiden Annual Dinner  as a platform to award and dine with impact makers whose stewardship has contributed in pushing the development trajectory of the district forward.

The award captures individuals from all walks of life regardless of social or economic status.

The idea was initiated by the Chairman for the Western Area Rural District Council, Kasho

J. Holland-Cole to not only recognise the invaluable contributions of the people but to also dialogue and bring ideas to keep the district moving on a stead growth. The occasion was also used to highlight the scorecards and recent achievements of the Council in meeting the basic needs and demands of the people.

In his opening courtesies, Chairman Kasho J. Holland Cole said the awardees were captured and selected through their hard work and impact in their various field of work and services. He called on them to continue their good work as the Council needs everyone on board to reach it desired destination as mandated by the Local Government Act of 2004.

Awards were given to Traders, Journalists, Civil Society Activists, School-going pupils, Teachers,  Cleanest Village, Ward Councillors, Ward Community Members and Institutions for Complimenting Council’s effort in changing the lives of the people in the Western Area Rural District.

The ES of the Local Service Commission, Members of Parliament and Mr Habib Thrope helped in distributing the awards.

The dinner was climaxed with artists performances and taking of pictures with WARD-C Chairman.
