The newly appointed Executive Director of the Sierra Leone Road Safety (SLRSA), Mr. Ibrahim Sannoh has today received cross section of the ECOWAS Youth Council executive in Sierra Leone at his Kissy road office in Freetown.
In his brief statement, the President of the ECOWAS Youth Council Amb. Sheku Foryoh, said the purpose of their visit was firstly to congratulate the Executive Director on his appointment as head of such a key institution and secondly to establish a good relationship in rolling out programs or projects for youth empowerment and development.
“We are a youth-led organisation,” he said. He went on to say that, “we are highly happy for this appointment as young people are now giving the opportunity to fully participate in national development and even serving at the helm of critical institutions in the country.”
The SLRSA Executive Director started by thanking God Almighty and His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio for his appointment to regulate and co-ordinate development in the road transport industry.
“I am happy and appreciate this visit,” he said, adding that “we should continue to collaborate as young people to make our country a better place.”
According to Mr. Sannoh, President Bio has not only created the space but he is keen to ensuring that young people contribute actively to national development.
