Alhaji Osman Yansaneh, National Secretary General of the All Peoples Congress Party has said that the Sierra Leone Peoples Party government really wants to celebrate two years in office by banning APC politicians then it means they have nothing to show the people of Sierra Leone in the last two years and also they are afraid that if the current status quo of APC goes into election with them in 2023, they will lose miserably.

When asked why he thinks that people have such thoughts, Alhaji Osman Yansaneh said he believes that over the last few weeks, most of the submissions from the prosecuting lawyers in the Commission of Inquiry (COI) is to ban Ex-President Koroma and other senior members of the party.

“If all the prosecuting lawyers are singing the same song I am sure the populace must have understood where they are coming from and they will not be surprised that is going to be the end result.

We were in governance for 10 years and we handed over power peacefully, since April 2018 APC has been consistently under attack and we have restrained our members not to take the law into their hands. This does not mean we are stupid, but we believe in peace and tranquility. We want the SLPP to follow that line so that we can grow our democracy.”

The Secretary General said banning all of them from politics will not be a good sign and will impede democracy and the rule of law. He said they are talking about it now because they would not want the international community as well as the people of Sierra Leone to be surprised when the time comes.
