IGP COMMISSIONS THREE HAND PUMPS IN NEW POLICE BARRACKS IN BO

On Saturday 26th September 2020, the Inspector General of Police Dr. Ambrose Michael Sovula commissioned three (3) rehabilitated boreholes in New Police Barracks in Bo.

Inadequate Water facilities in Police Barracks was one of the concerns expressed by the Police Wives during the first meeting with the Regional Police Wives Coordinator South Mrs Matilda Doris Sellu.

In their wisdom, the Regional Police Commander South AIG William Fayia Sellu and the Regional Police Wives Coordinator South Mrs Matilda Doris Sellu lured the assistance of the Water Aid Project Manager South Mr Patrick Musa to rehabilitate the three damaged boreholes to salvage the water crisis in Police Barracks.

The key note address was delivered by the IGP who appreciated the effort of the AIG South for taking the Police to the people.

He further commended Mrs Sellu and Mr Patrick Musa for their intervention to improve the welfare of Police personnel and their dependants.

IGP encouraged AIG South William Fayia Sellu to develop a concept note for the fencing of Police land and properties.

He also urged AIG to tentatively appoint two sober – minded and disciplined constables as acting Sergeant major for the two Barracks and help to maintain discipline in the Barracks.

IGP implored all and sundry to take good care of the rehabilitated boreholes.

As a committed leader, the IGP donated the sum of ten million Leones to the police Wives of both new and old Police Barracks and encouraged them to open a bank account as a start up fund raising.

Various statements were made by key stakeholders such as the President of Police Wives Association Mrs Angela Hawa Sovula.

She expressed her profound thanks and appreciation to Mrs Matilda Doris Sellu and the AIG South for their initiative to address the water crisis in the new Police Barracks.

She further applauded the Water Aid Project Manager South Mr. Patrick Musa and wife Mrs Musa for their laudable venture to serve humanity.

Similar sentiments were expressed by Mrs Matilda Doris Sellu and Mr Patrick Musa for making this Project a success as this was one of the challenges of the Police Wives in the Barracks, Mrs Sellu opined.

The event was climaxed by cutting of the tape by the IGP and officially handed over the three (3) hand pumps to the Barracks Mammy Queen.
