The Maiden Matriculation Ceremony for GTI In Sahn Malen held on Friday February 28th 2020 has ended with speaker after speaker profusely thanking government and stakeholders for making it possible for Pujehun District to have a technical college in answer to H E Present Bio’s aspiration to develop human capacity and to fulfill government’s flagship project to once more make Sierra Leone the Athens of West Africa.
Speaking at the well-attended forum the Chairman , Parliamentary Committee on Technical and Higher Education, Hon AO Kamara, Chairman Pujehun District Council, Sheikh S. Sowa, Director TVET, Abdul HB Senesie, Deputy Director, HRM, Rebecca M Saffa all reassures the students and the college Administration of Govt every support noting that the existing constraints will sooner be overcome and further appealed to the Management of Socfin Agricultural Company to continue it’s good will gesture while awaiting the much needed follow up from the Ministry.
Speaking further various stakeholders encouraged the students to play their parts by living up to expectations, noting that TVET institutions established nationwide are to rewrite and bring about the felt needed innovation and to help turn around and advance education to match arising situations.
Particularly the Chairman Pujehun District Council promised to timely make available the much needed water facilities.
Similar statements were made by the youth representative and many others who encouraged the students to make proper use of the golden opportunity now put at the door step of youths and parents in Pujehun District and beyond.
Speaking on behalf of the General Manager , Socfin Sierra Leone, the outspoken Mill Manager Mr. Akwasi Adu Boahem once more reassures all including the students, Malen Chiefdom Administration, college Administration and the government of the continues support of Socfin particularly for practical’s which forms seventy percent of the course.
Mr. Akwasi Adu Boahem also made mention of the opportunity open to the students to get employments upon completion and further encouraged all to make good use of the opportunity.
Earlier delivery the welcome address on behalf of Hon PCBVS Kebbie, Chiefdom Speaker SR Moiguah lavished praise adjectives on the Hon Chief Kebbie.
Chiefdom Speaker SR Moiguah recalled the propaganda and negative blames suffered by the local authorities and thanked God for their dreams becoming stark reality and in turn called on those engaged in such conspiracy theories to hence forth end the propaganda which the Chiefdom Speaker added has no place but to join forces with development loving stakeholders particularly the local Chiefs to help foster the much needed developmental goals.
The climax of the ceremony was reached by the taking the Matriculation oat by the student body and pouring of libation by Chief Abu Ngombu and the rest of Malen Chiefdom authorities
