FIAN-Belgium: Frustrating Hapless Sierra Leoneans

The constant anti-developmental activities perpetrated by FIAN-Belgium towards genuine investors in Sierra Leone have met strong resistance from residents of Sahn-Malen Chiefdom, Pujehun District.

Inhabitants of the chiefdom have actually query the Belgian organization for projecting their chiefdom In an appalling and horrendous manners to the international world and potential investors that are planning to invests in Sierra Leone.

It could be noted that President during his maiden speech to Sierra Leoneans and the world at large, President Julius Maada Bio called on Sierra Leoneans and possible investors to come and invests and help create jobs for Sierra Leoneans.

“Why is FIAN together with some local Non-Governmental Organizations abusing the human rights of the people in Sahn-Malen by denying them food through jobs and economic progress?,” sources close to the Finance Ministry enquired.

The Government of President Julius Maada Bio should urgently look into some of these NGOs/CSOs, because some of these organizations does not follow the law on NGO’s spending 70% of their funding’s on direct help to the people.

If the government through the Office of the President continues to make lip-services on the campaign of calumny by FIAN-Belgium and Green Scenery Sierra Leone will continued to be in the dark for decades without any development.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs in Belgium should closely monitor the activities of FIAN and their so-called publications of happenings in Sierra Leone especially in Sahn-Malen Chiefdom were the Agricultural Company operates.

What is important for Sierra Leoneans and the government is the economic future of Sierra Leone and nothing else, the eccentric bizarre statements about Sierra Leone from FIAN-Belgium is anything but crap and they should stop projecting Sierra Leone negative in the international arena.

What’s has FIAN-Belgium done for Sierra Leoneans especially residents of Sahn-Malen Chiefdom? The answer is ZERO, All what they’ve done in that chiefdom is division and hullabaloo with the help of local NGOs like Green Scenery.

FIAN-Belgium and Green Scenery should know that Socfin Agricultural Company is still LOSING huge money and it will take the company 20years just to get the investment back, this is the gospel truth which FIAN-Belgium and Green Scenery must know.

Without investments, Jobs and export Sierra Leone will be thrown back into slavery by the West, economic slavery this time around.

It is very clear that the mandate of FIAN’s is to expose violations of people’s right to food wherever they may occur and also stand up against unjust and oppressive practices that prevent people from feeding themselves.

If only the above statement is FIAN’s mandate, one begs to ask the questions, where are the foods shortages in Sahn-Malen Chiefdom? To say the truth Sahn-Malen Chiefdom is a works yard across the chiefdom.

Where are the unjust and oppressive practices going on Malen-Chiefdom? The Paramount Chief of Sahn-Malen Chiefdom who is the legal custodian of the chiefdom has time without number explains to Sierra Leoneans and the world that his chiefdom is growing rapidly since the inception of the Agricultural Company. What else FIAN’s and Green Scenery wanted to hear? FIAN’s rely only on cock and bull story by their surrogates.

Paramount Chief Kebbie has made it abundantly clear that the unnecessary meddling and interference by local and international Civil Society Organizations in his chiefdom since the commencement of Socfin Agricultural Company is the problem in Malen Chiefdom.

“If only these Civil Society Organizations will mind their business and concentrate on better activities in helping the country to grow it will be good for us as a nation,” he said.

The Government of President Julius Maada Bio should act wisely and not allowed FIAN’s Belgium and other International Organizations like Enda Pronat, GRAIN, ReAct, SOS Faim, Green Scenery among others to destroy Sierra Leone  to genuine investors who are closely monitoring the Socfin episode strongly.

What is expected by Sierra Leoneans is that Green Scenery should put their house in order and help the government to attract genuine investors and not turn enemy of progress to sober-minded investors that wants to compliments the efforts of the government.

This writer is challenging FIAN-Belgium and Green Scenery to points at any development they have done in Sierra Leone for our people, all what they are doing is to work with local Civil Society Organizations like Green Scenery to uncovered fictitious information about the agricultural company.

The demonstration at the ING Bank by FIAN-Belgium and other senseless organizations is still fresh in the minds of the government and Sahn-Malen residents.
