The 2018 Presidential candidate for the APC, Dr Samura Kamara today joined the congregation of the Buxton Memorial Methodist Church, Charles Street in Freetown as a humble worshipper in their JASOND Thanksgiving Service.
The theme for this wonderful service was ” Come let us walk in the light of the Lord” taken from Isaiah 2|5. Having his own say on the theme , Dr Kamara said that the theme was crucially important and morally instructive and urged all to avoid sin of whatever nature and to walk on the right path. “ We may run, stumble, walk or even fly but never we lose sight of the reason of the journey or miss a chance to do what is right,” Dr Samura solemnly but inspiringly stated.
Dr. Kamara said he was blessed with the opportunity to be in the presence of God, noting that the experience would be what he would make out of the opportunity and not what others thought he would make of it. He registered his satisfaction and joy at the warm reception accorded him, while also praising the cheerfulness of the membership in the church. He noted that he was now aware that hope was crucial and that tough times never last, but tough people do.
“When you get in a tight place and everything goes against you, till it seems as though you could not hold on a minute longer, never give up, for that is just the place and time that tide will turn. So, Come let us walk in the light of the Lord,” the seasoned diplomat and politician evangelistically implored all before leaving to attend another program in the provinces.
Dr Kamara continues to reach out and to create bridges across religious beliefs and such moves continue to endear him to many.
