Following the outcome of the newly instituted measure by Freetown City Council in orientating the mindsets of Freetonians in turning a National Cleaning Day to Trash Dumping Day, it’s evidently clear that today’s cleaning exercise has been registered in the annals of our country as one of the best since the reintroduction of the National Cleaning Exercise under the dispensation of this current Government headed by His Excellency Rtd. Brigadier Julius Maada Bio.
The initiative by Her Worship- Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr in conjunction with partners earns a thunderous applause from the vast majority of Freetonians though engulfed with criticism by a faction of those that have inculcated the unhygienic habit of storing their household waste and tend to logically turn a National Cleaning Day to Trash Dumping Day.
Albeit this new initiative in focusing on communial cleanings on National Cleaning Days, I consider it indispensable for Freetown City Council to popularize the new initiative of instituting waste collectors in respective localities within the Freetown Urban District for the enhancement of sustainable hygienic environments as we approach the Cleanest Zone Competition in the month of November.
Whilst I heap this message of thanks and appreciation on Freetown City Council and partners on behalf of the Ward 407 Development Committee, It’s also but fitting to remind the entire management structure of Freetown City Council headed by Her Worship- Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr to prioritize the welfare of Ward Committee Members.
