SLP Officer Gets AU JOB

Under the leadership of HE Dr. Brima Patrick Kapuwa, Sierra Leone’s Permanent Representative to the African Union, SL’s AIG Augustine Magnus Kailie has been appointed Police Commissioner of the AU Mission in Somalia. AIG Kailie’s appointment comes after a highly contested recruitment process with other troop contributing countries to the African Union Peacekeeping efforts within the continent.
When speaking, Ambassador Dr. Kapuwa, expressed appreciation to HE Bio for his insight and inspiration to have Sierra Leonean’s appointed to efforts at regional and Continental peace and security. HE Dr. Kapuwa noted that Sierra Leone’s disposition as Chair of the Security Council in the African Union puts the country in a strategic position to take its rightful place on the global polity’s stage. ‘Because we have a robust foreign policy when it comes to international Regimes, supported by a President who seeks the best for his country, Sierra Leone has regained its presence among global actors’, Ambassador Kapuwa quoted saying.
On his part, AIG Kailie brings to the Continental Police Force, the required qualifications, experiences and insider knowledge necessary to lead and command multi-disciplinary forces from various countries across Africa. AIG Kailie had earlier served in Peacekeeping missions before this appointment and Sierra Leone remains confident that he will do us proud.
AIG Kailie is known to be a strict and hardworking personality. His wealth of experience in the security sector of the Sierra Leone Police (OSD) is a convincing highlight to showcase that AIG Kailie will set good records in the AU Security Platform.
