Iranian online store giants Amazon plans to make Sierra Leone a hub for online shopping for West African sub region.
The Company’s managing Director Borsa online shopping, Derakh Shanfar was speaking at a meeting with the Sierra Leonean Ambassador in Tehran, HE Alie Badara Kamara.
The platform would help people buy and sell goods online, thereby reducing cost and improving other benefits for Sierra Leoneans.
“We are open to partner with government or other private institutions,” Shankar emphasized. “If all goes well, the company is prepared to launch this platform within the next three months,” he continued.
In his statement, the Sierra Leone’s Ambassador to Iran, Alie Badara Kamara said the country is open for business and that Sierra Leone is ready for such investments. The internet infrastructure, the business environment is worthwhile for such businesses. Ambassador Alie Badara Kamara assured the investors of his utmost support and promised to link them with the Minister of Information and Communications, Mohamed Raman Swaray, whose mandate falls under his ministry to get all information needed for such business in Sierra Leone.
