The Institute of Public Administration and Management has won the AWOL award as best Tertiary Institution of the year (2019).
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor S.E. Nonie thanked the organizers of the awards. He said IPAM is a constituent arm of the University of Sierra Leone which continues to make significant in- roads in education. He thanked staff of IPAM for their support and his abled lieutenant, the scribe, (Mr. E.J Momoh), Deputy Registrar of IPAM.
According to the chairman of the Programme, after thorough scrutiny three Institutions were nominated (IPAM, Njala University and UNIMAK).
She said that voting was not just the only criterion but other criteria were set for nominees to meet. I have the conviction that IPAM met those criteria which gave the Institute an edge over the other Institutions.
I therefore take this opportunity in addition to my Christmas appreciation, to add my voice to that of the DVC to thank all staff of IPAM again for their tremendous support to the Administration. The victory came as a result of TEAM WORK. I must encourage you all to keep up the spirit.
This is not only a big achievement for USL and for IPAM Administration, but an achievement for Sierra Leone. IPAM will no longer rest in its strides in creating the enabling academic environment by bringing IPAM closer to the community through its extra mural programmes in Freetown, Bo, Kenema, Makeni, Kono and others cities where IPAM is poised to be established in 2020. Creating the enabling academic environment for our young generation to access Tertiary Education is in support of the Free Quality Education. IPAM will definitely continue to expand.
In the next two to three years a residential campus which houses more than four thousand students would have been completed at Bureh Town by FEMAB Construction Company.
